After age 18, many neurodivergents still need support
While many systems focus on early intervention, support often declines or disappears in adulthood. AOTS exists to change that. We create access to community, education, and workforce opportunities that empower neurodivergent adults and individuals with learning disabilities to build independent, meaningful lives.
Our work is grounded in the belief that support should evolve with the individual—not end when they reach adulthood.
After age 18, many neurodivergent individuals face:
- Limited access to employment
- Social isolation
- Gaps in continued education and life-skills development
This results in untapped potential—not because of ability, but because of a lack of structured opportunity.
The question is no longer if support is needed.
The question is: why does it stop?

Shanna Wallen is the Founder and Executive Director of Adults on the Spectrum (AOTS) and Founder & CEO of ANOA — Autism Network of Adults.
With a background in healthcare, entrepreneurship, and organizational development, Shanna Wallen focuses on building practical, scalable solutions that connect education, workforce development, and community support.
Her work is centered on turning vision into action—launching initiatives, forming strategic partnerships, and creating systems that deliver measurable impact.
